Xitou camping and an adventurous hike

Driving in Taiwan around huge cities can be difficult. Several times we took the wrong direction, but at the end, we could manage it due to Google Maps and our unlimited data traffic subscription.

Now we are in Xitou. When we arrived, we saw hundreds of buses; people and pupils everywhere. We wondered if there is a bank holiday. We figured out it looks like that each day except weekends. This park is popular for retired people for hiking on paved trails through the beautiful forest.…

Camping close to Guanwu

We are completely remote in the mountains for camping. Several farmers rent camping sites with very clean facilities. The price for a campsite is around 1000 TWD, roughly 30 Euro. Here in Taiwan, it’s common to have a shower at each campground; otherwise Taiwanese people wouldn’t stay here. We are the only ones mid-week. Taipei - The Mega City

Taipei, Taiwan a completely different culture, food and first of all language. Not many people speak English. That's challenging! Anyhow, we already experienced several kind residents trying to help us. The food is delicious and cheap, but you can't compare it to Asian food in Europe.
